Quarterly Jam
In honor of the legendary Hoofer’s Club, tap dancers of all ages are invited to participate in this quarterly jam. From the 1920s through the 1940s, Harlem’s Comedy Club on 131st Street, owned by Lonnie Hicks, was the home for the Hoofer’s Club. The back room was a site for learning, listening and creativity for those interested in tap dance.

GUGGENHEIM AWARD GOES TO TAP!
Roxane Butterfly has been selected as fellow choreographer 2006 by the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation for her project DJELLABAH GROOVE, a fusion of tap and the music of North-Africa and Andalucia. She is currently leading her project between Morocco, France and Spain and is delighted to bring it to Summerstage in Central park, on July 7th, with the new cast of DJELLABAH GROOVE. Mark the date!
