It’s digital and the BIOS setting you’re talking about will tell it to use either digital out on the case jacks or analog out. I get a “Gigabyte” logo even though I use more up to date drivers than Gigabyte ever offered. Okay, good news and bad news. Updated drivers Windows has the most updated driver 4. You should nail down the cause of the crashes before blaming anything for them!

What’s the difference between these cables, and when do i know what to use? Realtek’s driver support is exemplary, and will even brand the drivers accordingly. The days of board manufacturers having to do crazy black magic with hhd devices are long over, today’s audio ICs are flexible and reconfigurable enough to just get on with it.

It is up to software whether to disable the rear panel audio output when a connector is plugged into the front panel output. They both appear to have the same azalai of connector right down to the ‘key’ – the space where there’s no pin and its filled upapparently the same colour codes at close inspection and so on. I know from what most people tell me that it’s likely they’re caused by some driver or other but I’m in no way qualified to figure out which one, and it’s never easily pegged to one driver install. Once I have loaded the latest drivers from Realtek’s website R2. I tried to redownload and install from the link you posted but still the same issue. I tried sound recorder in windows but no success?
Ajdio have tried installing the latest realtek HD audio drivers but thishas not helped at all, I have found that if I plug in headphones to the output jack of the computer I can hear sound and have found that if I roll back drivers then it works however my computer keeps automatically installing the realtek driver again. I had to play with them till I got it right.
Win10 Pro X64 I’m not sure of the exact different I assume that HD audio will gives better audio hc but I’ll always go for HD audio if the mainboard has it, if the mainboard only has AC97 then I’ll use AC97 connector.

AC97 cables usually have an empty socket in pin location 4. He’s also having me run hardware stress tests Furmark, Prime95 etc.
