On behalf of the Tap Legacy family it is my pleasure and true honor to welcome you to this website. What can be said of Gregory Hines to truly explain the importance of his contributions to the world of tap dance. Simply put: He gave. He gave of his time, his name, his talent, continually sharing his love for this art form and encouraging dancers all over the world.
His contributions could be seen and felt in almost every possible outlet, whether it be film, television, or theatre. Yet his humble nature and sincere approach wouldn't let on. Indeed, the Tap Legacy Foundation, itself, would not exist were it not for Gregory's support as a co-founder.
So with his untimely passing we felt it necessary to celebrate his life with a website dedicated to his work. We hope you enjoy your journey as you discover one of the greatest improvisational tap dancers of our time.
